The Design Studio are currently working at full capacity on multiple projects and may not be able to accommodate your request unless it is of high strategic importance. Alternatively, we do work closely with some agencies who could help facilitate your request.

The Chase – Epigram –

Brief us about your design job now. We can manage the process from concept to design to print.

The University design studio can provide artwork for a whole range of printed materials, such as postcards, flyers, posters, course leaflets, brochures, reports and adverts.

… but before you head for the briefing form, please ensure you’ve thought about the following:

  • Do you have the final and complete version of the text to use in the design?

The more complete your copy is the faster the progress will be through the studio.

If you have draft text which will need to be approved by colleagues then please do this before submitting the design request. Please ensure that the text is supplied in the order you wish it to be used.

  • Do you have high quality images if the job needs them?

Images taken from websites do not reproduce well in print and so cannot be used.

You can choose images from our online imagebank at or supply your own. If you are supplying your own, please ensure that you have the permission to use them and that they are of a high enough resolution (300 pixels per inch – an image suitable for reproduction at A4 would be 2500 pixels wide and 3500 high). If you would like us to check images you already have, please e-mail

  • Do you need to use logos from other organisations (such as partners or professional bodies)?

Logos taken from websites cannot be used.

Please contact the organisation to obtain their logo in a high resolution.

Please ask for a ‘high-resolution tiff or jpg’, or an ‘E.P.S.’ file.

  • Do you have a realistic estimate of your delivery date?

The design studio is a free service to colleagues across the University and is in high-demand. Please factor in enough time for design when planning your project.

Whilst a postcard or flyer may take only a few days to turnaround, a brochure or report will take significantly longer. Best practice would be to allow up to 2 weeks for design, which can allow for any amends you have to make. You then need to allow a further week for printing. We will do our best to accommodate urgent jobs but it is not always possible.

  • Do you have an estimate of your budget?

This will allow us to ensure that we find the most affordable and effective printing solution.

Please specify the format you would like your work to take and the quantities on the briefing form. We can then source quotes for your approval.
